LITHIUM: Ganfeng to buy first stake in Chinese lithium salt lake project
China’s Ganfeng Lithium Co, through its subsidiary Qinghai Liangcheng Mining Co, is to acquire a 49% stake in a Chinese lithium salt lake project, its first such upstream asset in the country.
The asset ownership will come from the acquisition of investment fund Yili Hongda for 1.47 billion yuan ($225 million). The Yiliping salt lake project, located at the Qaidam Basin in Qinghai, is operated by China Minmetals Corp. It reportedly holds resources of 69,820…
