LITHIUM: Rock Tech Lithium to build Europe’s first hydroxide plant
Canada-based Rock Tech Lithium pledges to build Europe’s first lithium converter in Guben, in the German state of Brandenburg, Kallanish reports.
The plant, to be located in the Guben industrial park, will produce 24,000 tonnes/year of battery-grade lithium hydroxide. The company estimates this production can meet demand of 500,000 electric vehicle batteries per year. Start-up is scheduled for 2024.
