MINI to shift UK electric production to China in 2023
BMW Group’s MINI will start production of its all-electric models in east China next year, halting manufacturing of the MINI Electric hatchback and small SUV at its Oxford plant in the UK.
The carmaker says jobs at the British factory won’t be affected, as the plant will continue to build ICE models. The brand’s global bestseller model, the MINI Convertible – an ICE model -- will be returning to Oxford from 2025.
