NICKEL: BMW, Volvo, Google, Samsung SDI against deep-sea mining
The BMW Group, Volvo, Google and Samsung SDI are all supporting a World Wildlife Fund petition calling for a moratorium on deep-sea mining for nickel, cobalt and manganese for electric vehicle batteries, Kallanish reports.
The four companies are the first to sign the WWF petition, although more firms are expected to sign, the BMW Group says in a statement announcing the signings.
