Northvolt receives approval to start Heide gigafactory construction
Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt announced Wednesday its planned gigafactory in Heide, Germany, has received clearance from local authorities, Kallanish reports.
The company said both local municipalities, Lohe-Rickelshof and Norderwöhrden in Schleswig-Holstein, approved the construction of Northvolt Drei. The decision follows a €902 million ($982.6m) funding approval from the European Commission earlier this month.
