Posco begins Gwangyang nickel processing facility construction
South Korea’s Posco has begun construction of its high nickel matte processing facility in Gwangyang, aiming for a stable supply chain in the booming battery market, Kallanish learns.
The plant is expected to process 30,000 tonnes/year of high nickel matte and produce battery grade nickel sulfate and cobalt sulfate products, yielding 20,000 t/y of pure nickel metal.
