Posco breaks ground on new high-nickel NCA cathode plant

South Korean battery material and chemical company Posco Future M has recently broken ground on a high-nickel cathode active material (CAM) factory in Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, Kallanish reports.  The high-value-added project will be built at Yulchon Industrial Complex 1. The plant will produce 52,500 tonnes of nickel-cobalt-aluminium (NCA) CAM per year, which is enough to make 60-kilowatt-hour batteries for 580,000 electric vehicles.
