RARE EARTH: Consortium to produce REEs from Pennsylvania coal wastes
Texas Mineral Resources and its partners are getting a $1.1 million grant from the US Department of Energy to develop rare earth production from Pennsylvania anthracite coal wastes, Kallanish reports.
The project is aiming to produce from 1-3 tonnes/day of mixed rare earth oxides that will then be processed at a USA Rare Earth facility. Other partners include Penn State University, Jeddo Coal and industrial contractor McCarl’s.
