RARE EARTH: EU mulls aid to rare earth magnet sector: report
The European Union is reportedly mulling state aid to enable the development of rare earth magnet production in the region, securing the critical material primarily supplied by China.
Citing unnamed sources, Reuters said Europe was working on proposals to jump-start the rare earth industry in a move mirroring US legislation. This could include tax credits, cheap financing and compensation for higher raw materials costs, the report suggests.
