Taiwan’s TSMC, partners to build second fab in Japan
Taiwan’s semiconductor giant TSMC and its partners Sony Semiconductor Solutions Company (SSS), Denso and Toyota Motor Corporation will build a second semiconductor fab in Japan.
The companies announced “further investments” on Tuesday without disclosing the amounts. According to a joint statement seen by Kallanish, the investment in the Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing (JASM) joint venture will exceed $20 billion.
