Umicore, Idemitsu join forces to develop catholytes
Belgian circular materials technology group Umicore said Thursday it will jointly develop high-performance catholyte materials for solid-state batteries with Japan’s Idemitsu Kosan.
The new material category combines cathode active materials (CAM) and solid electrolytes, Kallanish notes. Through their collaboration, the companies aim to provide a technological breakthrough to extend driving range, propelling e-mobility.
