Vale installs Brazil’s largest BESS at ore terminal
Brazilian giant miner Vale said Tuesday it has completed the installation of a 10-megawatt battery energy storage system (BESS) at its Guaíba Island Terminal (TIG) port in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The project started operation in the second half of last year, through a partnership with Siemens and Micropower. The latter, a joint venture between Comerc Energia, Siemens and Equinor, provided balance management software for the batteries manufactured by Tesla. …
