Volkswagen Group reveals location of Spanish 40 GWh gigafactory
Volkswagen Group and its subsidiary SEAT confirmed on 23 March it will build its Spanish gigafactory in Valencia after a “tough” selection process, Kallanish reports.
The plan is to electrify the Martorell and Pamplona plants and build a localised battery value chain. VW Group wants to transform Spain into a European e-mobility hub and believes the so-called Future Fast Forward project will have a “strong pulling effect.”
