NICKEL: Volume push alters nickel market production, dynamics
The expanding electric vehicle battery market is making waves in the nickel arena, according to Bank of America commodity strategist Michael Widmer.
In a research note, Widmer says that nickel producers are increasingly targeting laterite formations over the traditional sulphides. Laterite formations are more common but ore extraction is more difficult, which signals an interest in increasing volume, Kallanish understands.
