VW Group confirms €3 billion investment in Valencia gigafactory
Volkswagen Group said it will spend over €3 billion ($3.16 billion) in its battery gigafactory in Spain, the third of its six planned plants across Europe, Kallanish reports.
The investment done through its subsidiary SEAT covers the construction of a 200-hectare, 40-gigawatt-hour battery facility in Sagunto, Valencia. Works are planned to begin in Q1 2023 and production in 2026. Construction had previously been slated to start by this year-end.
