Yamaha develops H2 outboard system for recreational boats
Japanese manufacturer Yamaha Motor Corporation has developed what it says is the “world’s first” hydrogen-powered outboard for recreational boats.
The company has partnered with US-based components manufacturer Roush to develop a fuel system to power the outboard. In parallel, Yamaha has joined forces with boat builder Regulator Marine to build a boat for testing the prototype outboard. Tests are planned this summer, Yamaha said Wednesday.
