Gerdau US mill increases capacity via Primetals upgrades
Gerdau North America has officially awarded Primemetals Technologies the final acceptance certificate for its longs mill modernisation project in Monroe, Michigan. The mill has been outfitted with a new twin ladle furnace, material handling system, and upgrades to the existing electric arc furnace.
Gerdau increased the plant’s overall capacity and annual production of special rolled end products. It also added a robotic system, Kallanish notes.
