Laiwu Steel completes blast furnace maintenance
Shandong Laiwu Steel has completed the maintenance of its No.2 blast furnace this week and has seen the blast furnace resume production, Kallanish notes.
The overhaul started in November 2019. Laiwu Steel spent 5 months completing repairs on the furnace whilst adding new dust removal facilities.
The 1,880-cubic-metre blast furnace has 1.58 million tonnes/year of iron capacity. During the maintenance, Laiwu Steel lost about 650,000 tonnes of iron output.
