Nangang fails environmental inspection
China’s Nanjing Iron and Steel’s blast furnace has failed an inspection by the city’s Environmental Protection Bureau. If subsequent inspections find no improvement, the company, also known as Nangang, could become the first major steelmaker to be fined under China’s new environmental laws, Kallanish notes.
