Tangshan steelmakers to be consolidated into 9 large companies by end 2017

Steelmakers in the northern Chinese city of Tangshan are expected to be consolidated into 9 large steelmaking groups which will account for 90% of total capacity between them, according to local media. The plan to consolidate the city comes from the local city government but would leave the nationally-owned Shougang to take the lead in consolidation, according to the Hebei News.
