Angang resumes blast furnace operation
Chinese steelmaker Angang has resumed operation of its No.2 blast furnace and other facilities on site on 8 May, 55 hours earlier than previously expected, Kallanish notes.
The refurbishment work started at the beginning of March. The 3,200-cubic-metre No.2 blast furnace has been relined and its electrics upgraded. The steelmaker also expects to improve the furnace utilisation rate. The refurbishment has taken 67 days, the company says, with a daily…
