ArcelorMittal readies Gijón blast furnace A restart
ArcelorMittal tells Kallanish it is working to restart blast furnace A next week at the Gijón plant, in northern Spain.
The equipment has been halted since 22 March when a fire hit the facility during a scheduled maintenance operation. An internal reaction is thought to have occurred when pig iron came into contact with water in the hearth of the furnace.
