Argentina’s steel trade deficit narrows in Q1
Argentina saw its first-quarter finished steel trade deficit narrow both quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year. During Q1, imports fell considerably, Kallanish notes.
According to data from local steel association Cámara Argentina de Acero (CAA), entries in the period exceeded exports by 32,500 tonnes. By comparison, the trade deficit was 99,000t in Q4 2023 and 171,800t in Q1 2023.
