Asian demand lifts Mechel's coke shipments
Russian miner and steel producer Mechel’s Moscow Coke and Gas Plant (Moskoks) increased shipments of metallurgical coke in the first half of the year, the company says.
Deliveries amounted to 350,000 tonnes, against 295,000t in the same period last year, Kallanish notes.
“The increase in sales is due to growing demand for coke products in the Asia-Pacific region – China and India,” says plant managing director Sergei Belan.
