Baosteel Zhanjiang tests 1mm HRC
On 11 July, Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel (Zhangang) successfully produced hot rolled coil in 1mm thickness and 2,250mm width at one of its hot strip mills, Kallanish notes.
Zhangang had previously rolled down to the mill's designed minimum thickness of 1.2mm. It is also boosting the rate of hot charging to the rolling mill in order to improve efficiency and cut costs.
