Baotou Steel unveils revised converter upgrade plan
Within a week of announcing the abandonment of its original plans, Baotou Steel in Inner Mongolia has revealed a new converter upgrade plan, according to the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia.
Baotou Steel plans to build a 120-tonne converter instead of a 100t one. Thus, the design capacity will be 1.35 million tonnes/year rather than 1.15m t/y, Kallanish notes.
