Baowu begins bar mill construction in Wuhan
China Baowu Group’s Wuhan Iron & Steel (Wugang) has started construction of the bar mill at its Qingshan District steelworks, with an investment of CNY 370 million ($57m).
Kallanish learns the mill has a capacity of 1.2 million tonnes/year of hot rolled rebar and fine-grained hot rolled bars. It is being constructed on the site of the original plate plant, and is expected to be put into operation before 1 October.
