Bayi Steel makes loss in first quarter 2019
The operating revenue of Bayi Iron & Steel, a major steel producer in north-west China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, increased by 15.1% year-on-year to CNY 3.92 billion ($584 million) in first-quarter 2019. However, the company lost CNY 194.15m over the same period, with net attributable profit slumping by -235% y-o-y, according to Bayi Steel's offcial report to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
