Bekaert plans for 100% carbon neutrality in US
Belgium-based steel wire rod producer Bekaert plans to achieve 100% net-zero carbon emissions in the US by 2025 after entering into an energy purchasing agreement with Origis Energy.
Bekaert has agreed to a 28-megawatt virtual power purchasing agreement with the Florida-based renewable energy supplier. The company will source its renewable power from Origis Energy's solar farm in Texas, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
