BHPB hits record iron ore production
BHP Billiton rounded off its financial year with a quarter of record iron ore production. The company’s met coal output also soared at the end of the year, Kallanish notes.
While iron ore output over the financial year ending June was up 3% on-year to 238.421 million tonnes, output in the June quarter hit 63.586mt, up 6% y-o-y. In the June quarter output hit a record high run rate of 289m t/y on a 100% basis. The miner now expects to ship 273-283…
