Brazil sees lower steel production/consumption in April
Brazilian crude steel and rolled products output decreased year-on-year in April, Kallanish learns from data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB).
Crude steel output totalled 2.88 million tonnes in April, -1.9% down on the 2.94mt produced during the same month in 2018. During the January-April period crude steel production reached 11.27mt. This volume represents a fall of -2.5% y-o-y.
