Brazil improves pig iron production, exports in March
Brazilian pig iron production and exports increased month-on-month in March, Kallanish notes.
According to data from the local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB), March’s pig iron output was 2.26 million tonnes, an increase of 125,000t or 5.8% m-o-m. This volume was 5% higher year-on-year, IAB data show. Three-month production amounted to 6.53mt or 2.4% greater y-o-y.
