Brazil’s 2023 steel bar imports jump
Brazilian steel bar imports more than doubled in December, Kallanish notes.
Despite the growth in entries observed in last quarter, the country ended 2023 with trade surplus of 121,859 tonnes, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic). For comparison, in 2022 exports exceeded imports by 597,413t.
