Brazil’s finished steel trade narrows in January
Brazilian finished steel exports fell sequentially in January, according to data from local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB) monitored by Kallanish. Imports were also down.
Brazil’s January steel exports decreased 15% on-month to 1.15 million tonnes. These, however, were 116% higher y-o-y. Semi-finished steel comprised 365,924t, down 23.7% over the previous month but 101.7% higher y-o-y.
