Brazil’s July steel imports dip, exports grow
Brazilian steel imports becalmed in July after three months of strong growth. The country meanwhile saw shipments abroad return to normal levels, Kallanish notes.
According to local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB)’s latest report, July imports fell 9.1% month-on-month to 511,669 tonnes. These, however, were 250.7% higher year-on-year.
