Brazil’s steel output recovers in July, except slab
Brazil saw crude steel output rise on-month in July, Kallanish notes. An improvement was also observed in the production of rolled steel, while semis' performance was weaker versus June.
Local steelmakers association Instituto Aço Brasil's (IAB) latest report shows that Brazil’s monthly crude steel output was 2.71 million tonnes, up 5.9% from June but 4.7% less year-on-year. Seven-month production was 8.6% weaker on-year at 18.6mt.
