Brazil's steel sector performance improves in May
Brazil’s steel production and consumption rose sequentially in May, Kallanish notes.
According to local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB)’s latest report, Brazil’s May crude steel output was 2.97 million tonnes. This was 1.7% more over April, but down 4.9% year-on-year. Five-month production was also 2.2% lower on-year at 14.5mt.
