Brazil’s steel trade surplus narrows on-month in November

Brazil remained a net exporter of steel in November. The country’s trade surplus was almost 615,000 tonnes in the month, narrowing 9.5% versus October but widening 27.1% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. The eleven-month trade surplus stands at 6.39 million tonnes, compared with 7.98mt in January-November 2022. The reduction is mainly explained by 49.9% higher imports on-year.
