Brazil’s steel trade surplus narrows in September
Brazil remained a net exporter of steel in September. The country’s trade surplus was almost 304,000 tonnes in the month, narrowing 32.3% and 49.8% respectively over August and year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
The nine-month trade surplus stands at 5.13 million tonnes, compared with 6.91mt in January-September 2022. The reduction is mainly explained by 57.9% higher imports on-year.
