Brazil’s steel trade surplus widens in October
Brazil remained a net exporter of steel in October. The country’s trade surplus was almost 680,000 tonnes in the month, widening 136.9% and 16% respectively over September and year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
The ten-month trade surplus stands at 5.77 million tonnes, compared with 7.50mt in January-October 2022. The reduction is mainly explained by 54.8% higher imports on-year.
