Brazil’s wire rod trade deficit narrows in February
Brazil remained a net importer of wire rod in February. The country’s trade deficit was almost 8,900 tonnes in the month, narrowing 25.8% over January, Kallanish notes.
According to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data, imports of wire rod reached 12,100t in February, down 22.9% versus the previous month and also 24.3% weaker y-o-y. Two-month intake totalled 27,731t, a decrease of 19.3% y-o-y.
