Brazil’s wire rod trade deficit widens in July
Brazil remained a net importer of wire rod in July, Kallanish notes. The country’s trade deficit was almost 17,800 tonnes in the month, widening by 64.1% and 34.9%, respectively, over June and compared with the same period in 2022.
According to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data, imports of wire rod reached 22,600t in July, up 44.9% versus the previous month and 26.9% more y-o-y. Seven-month intake total…
