British Steel wins largest-ever sleepers contract, from Guinea
British Steel has won its largest ever order for rail sleepers, which will see the export of 244,000 steel sleepers to Guinea. These will be used to upgrade the railway line at a bauxite mine, Kallanish notes.
The firm faced a high level of competition to secure the contract, says export sales manager Jérôme Bonef.
