China announces 120mt mislabeled capacity cuts
China's National Development & Reform Commission has announced that it has shut down over 600 mislabelled steelmakers and eliminated around 120 million tonnes/year of mislabelled steel capacity. According to the announcement, the capacity calculation is based on 24-hours operation, however, which means the actual impact on steel output should be lower, Kallanish notes.
