China cancels registrations for 19 steelmakers
China’s Ministry of Industry & Information Technology (MIIT) has released several lists of steel companies which have been issued notices involving cancelled registration approvals, name changes, equipment upgrades and environmental issues. Most steelmakers had registrations removed due to the elimination of all their capacity, but the list also included some severe cases of adding illegal steel capacity, Kallanish notes.
