China to conduct steelmaking energy efficiency inspections
China has announced that it will conduct national energy efficiency inspections on its coke and steel industries this year, according to the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology (MIIT). The steel inspection will mainly focus on 187 fully-integrated steel producers (see table below). These mostly operate sintering, pelletising, coking, ironmaking and steelmaking facililities, Kallanish notes.
