China to double oil & gas pipeline length
China’s National Development & Reform Commission and National Energy Administration launched together last week a medium-long term national gas & oil pipeline network development plan.
By the end of 2020 the government aims to boost pipeline length by almost 50% based on 2015 levels, and to more than double the network by 2025. Kallanish estimates the implied steel demand could reach around 19 million tonnes over 2016-2020.
