China explains why capacity curbs mean more steel
China's National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC) has explained why it believes national crude steel output has kept increasing while mislabelled steel and crude steel capacity elimination campaigns are still ongoing. The organisation presented its views to a press conference on 18 May. An NDRC spokesman also confirmed that China aims to gradually increase high quality steel capacity, Kallanish notes.
