China to review all capacity replacement projects
China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Industry and Information technology (MIIT) have notified local governments that no new capacity replacement projects can be approved or filed. This will be so until they have completed a review of all projects since 2016. The move follows suggestions in 2019 that some mills have made false declarations about their capacity, Kallanish notes.
