China’s steel consumption enters era of decline: MPI
China’s major steel consuming sectors have almost all entered into an era of decline, according to forecasts sent to Kallanish by the China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute (MPI). Automotive and shipbuilding steel demand are the few sectors that could see moderate growth in the coming years and will not be able to stop a dramatic decline in overall growth.
